swimmatte August 4, 2013 Share August 4, 2013 So...... I bought a AquaticLife 115 Internal Mini Protein Skimmer from Marine Depot because it was on sale a few weeks ago and it has already bit the dust. My issue here is that in an effort to save space, my sump is only 6" front to back. I need ideas on how to skim this thing. Should I go external? Or is there a super small footprint skimmer that people would recommend?
kjamaya August 4, 2013 Share August 4, 2013 how many G is your frag tank? You can always do a HOB skimmer. Cpr did great for my 55G a while back.
swimmatte August 4, 2013 Author Share August 4, 2013 Ooops..... that's pertinent information huh. It's only a 30 gallon tank with another 10-15 gallons in the sump. I'd like to stay away from going with a HOB, but I guess I could run the HOB in the sump.

kjamaya August 4, 2013 Share August 4, 2013 I ran a CPR in my sump for my 55 and it worked great. Kept my nitrates at 0 and was easier to clean.

swimmatte August 5, 2013 Author Share August 5, 2013 So your available footprint is 6" x what? I can probably do 6"x10"
Djplus1 August 5, 2013 Share August 5, 2013 Look at the eshopps psk 75 or psk 100(this is what I'm running) not awesome, but small and efficient enough in,my opinion. I'm probably looking at the avast cs1 soon, so if you want mine, I may be ready for an upgrade.
