bqq100 July 9, 2013 July 9, 2013 Can't wait to see a review. I actually hope they re-release the PLS100 with the adjustment/locking knobs.
Orion July 30, 2013 Author July 30, 2013 Ok finally got this skimmer up and running last night. I am extremely happy so far. The first thing I noticed after I plugged the skimmer in was how quiet it was, and how there were very little microbubbles going back into the tank. My previous skimmer by Innovative Marine was very loud, and produced a lot of microbubbles initially. Instructions were clear, and it took about 5 minutes to set it up. Cadlights also has videos on their website. I ran the skimmer for about 5 minutes in my kitchen sink to mess around with the adjustment knob, and skimmer height adjustment. I believe the directions say to put the skimmer between 4-7" of water with 6" being the best height, which is what I found out too. One note - The instructions also say to run the skimmer for at least one minute before adjusting the foam height. I found that I had to wait at LEAST 5 minutes before making any adjustments. It takes a little time before the foam to level off within the skimmer. Took some precaution and left the skimmer off overnight, and turned it on this morning to let it run while I have been home today. In 10 hours I already have skimmate. I highly recommend this skimmer for any Nano. It's rated for 10-50g tanks, but I probably wouldn't put it on anything larger than a 30 gallon. It's pipeless so it should fit in most nano AIOs.
BowieReefer84 July 30, 2013 July 30, 2013 Nice! Even if those nano skimmers don't pull out a ton they do a great job aerating water and helping PH.
swimmatte August 9, 2013 August 9, 2013 I just ordered this for my 30 gallon frag tank due to it's super small footprint. Any update on yours after a week?
Orion August 9, 2013 Author August 9, 2013 It's still working great. I just emptied a full cup of skimmate last night. Marine depot has a video up on their website demonstrating the skimmer as well.
