xabo May 18, 2013 May 18, 2013 My Pacific Coast CL-1000 chiller has stopped cooling the tank. I have it set for 79 degrees but it will only cool to 81-82. It's putting out heat as the room heats up but the water does not cool down. Low on Freon?
Gatortailale May 18, 2013 May 18, 2013 When was the last time you cleaned the car-radiator type grill the coolant circulates through and the air is drawn over. I was using a brush & air duster over the years to clean mine, or so I thought, but that only really got one side. About a month ago I took it outside & borrowed neighbor's air compressor, took the cover off and really blew some air on the radiator. Lots of dust & other stuff blew off it. Unit is working like it was new again.
Hilary May 18, 2013 May 18, 2013 That's always the culprit when one of mine otherwise seems to be working fine.
Hilary May 18, 2013 May 18, 2013 LOL. Mine is usually a combination of dust and dog hair, and has to be cleaned every month or so.
