sachabballi reef March 6, 2013 Author Share March 6, 2013 it is for the skimmer cup drain on my skimmer and it fits over a 5 or 7 gallon bucket and the balls stop the waste from over flowing and out onto the floor. it would go over top of the orange bucket you see next to the skimmer from the drain. Incredible Corals March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 Avast, one of our sponsor, sells it. Got it running on our skimmer at the store and it works great. http://www.avastmarine.com/ssc/do/product/proteinskimmers/Davy-Jones-Skimmate-Superlocker
Supernova26 March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 Do you have an apex. You can make one in 15 min. All you need is a float switch.

Marc Weaver March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 The ping-pong ball one shown will only work with a downdraft or beckett-style skimmer (ETSS, MRC.) The ping pong balls cut off the air output from the skimmer, eliminating the foam head so the skimmer operates more like a water pass-through device so as not to flood your floor. One can easily be made with a float switch as long as you plug your skimmer pump into a controlled outlet that the apex will turn off when the float switch is triggered. You will need a break-out box and some programming experience with the apex. I'd help you with that, but I don't have any experience with that aspect of the apex.
