Guest vballgirl75 September 28, 2005 September 28, 2005 Hi all, Found this hitchiker on one of the live rocks bought recently and can't figure out what it is... looks like an anemone but during the day, it is completely shriveled/closed up. At night, it opens up and extends out. It has legs and has moved around and packs a wallop of a sting... owie... If anyone can help identify this critter, please help!
Sugar Magnolia September 28, 2005 September 28, 2005 Looks sort of like a rock/flower anemone. How big is it?

steveoutlaw September 29, 2005 September 29, 2005 You might want to look up Majano. I've had some of those in my tank and they are not good. You can get rid of them with a Kalk injection or order Joe's Juice from one of the on-line places. Where are you located? I'm in Woodbridge and have some Joe's Juice and syringe if you need it. I would positively identify it before you kill it.........don't want to kill anything good! Oh, and Welcome to the club!

flowerseller September 29, 2005 September 29, 2005 I'd watch it. The link looks similar to what we used to call curly-Q anemone. Niether look like a majano to me. What other inhabs do you have and what was added recently? Rock, corals, cups of sand from other tanks?
