epleeds January 17, 2013 Share January 17, 2013 I just bought a new pump for my maxcap 90 by spectrapure. The old pump was running 65psi. The new is 85psi. Should I turn it down or is it ok to run at that psi?
STEVE January 17, 2013 Share January 17, 2013 That is fine...Jim at the Filter Guys actually likes it at 85-90. Mine is at 85 also.
davelin315 January 18, 2013 Share January 18, 2013 I say too high! Actually, you want to read the PSI at the membrane to determine where it's ideal. I want to say that around 75-80 is ideal, but maybe I'm thinking temperature...
Coral Hind January 18, 2013 Share January 18, 2013 I run 85-90 at the first RO membrane and around 65 at the second. Just make sure to back flush regularly as the high psi can clog it faster. Particles get lodge in it instead of flowing over it.
epleeds January 18, 2013 Author Share January 18, 2013 i run the flush on it for about 30 seconds to a minute after each use. should i do it longer then that?
Coral Hind January 18, 2013 Share January 18, 2013 That is a good time. Every once in awhile do a longer 5-10 minutes flush. Make sure to tap on the membrane with the outlets up to remove all the air bubbles.
