camelcruiser January 15, 2013 January 15, 2013 I just got a clown tang to replace my recently MIA Sohal. I have one problem he won't eat anything I have tried everything mysis, brine shrimp, cyclopeze, nori, rod's food and a couple other types of seaweed. He's been in there since Saturday but hasn't eaten anything that I'v seen just grazing on the rocks any help would be great thanks guys.

camelcruiser January 15, 2013 Author January 15, 2013 I will try that tomorrow and see how that goes.

davelin315 January 15, 2013 January 15, 2013 Clown Tangs are notoriously difficult and you'll find very few people that have had even short term success with them. I don't think I've ever successfully acclimated one to eating in captivity and have had several.
camelcruiser January 15, 2013 Author January 15, 2013 Yea I know I had one it was my first tang it ate well and lived for almost 3 years before it pulled the same disappearing act as my Sohal. I have heard of this problem though I guess I just didn't think it would be this hard to find something for him to eat.
basser9 January 16, 2013 January 16, 2013 They love red gracilaria .....the Hawaiian stuff is thinner and if you grow it out you should have success with a clown or sohal.
camelcruiser January 16, 2013 Author January 16, 2013 Ok I'll definitely try that does anyone know where I can get some red gracilaria from?
