Coral Hind December 14, 2012 December 14, 2012 I don't know of anything that I've had ever really eating it. It collects in one spot you could siphon it out during a water change. So does he seem to do most of his work at night?
MBVette December 14, 2012 Author December 14, 2012 Yup, he seems to be nocturnal. He comes out around 6pm when the lights have almost gone out and when I get into work at 6am he is back in his same cave. Its still dark in the tank, but it looks like he has cleaned up most of the sandbed in the area he was working before and maybe a little on the rocks last night. At this pace, this cleanup is going to take awhile.
MBVette December 14, 2012 Author December 14, 2012 So here is the area he is working on when I put him in. Here is the area this morning, you can see he has done some work there. He has the sand bed 98% clean in that area, which had some good hair that doesnt show in the first pic. It seems that is what he focused on first.
Coral Hind December 14, 2012 December 14, 2012 I think that is a good bit of eating for something so small. It's kind of funny watching them eat with the constant trail of pellets popping out.
MBVette December 18, 2012 Author December 18, 2012 So I lost a bit a patience and got a small foxface I put in there also the other day. But now between the sea hare, the foxface, and the turbos some progress seems to be being made. Here is a pic today, he is hiding under the sand in the front corner of the tank. Though a few minutes ago I saw a shrimp standing onto of the sand pile he is under picking at the rocks, so Im a bit concered. Im hoping he is just picking at any leftover food the sea hare kicked up when he buried himself.
MBVette December 18, 2012 Author December 18, 2012 Definitly, there are now some rocks that are like 95% clean, and obviously others that still have not been touched. I figure another month or so and the tank should be pretty clean.
MBVette December 24, 2012 Author December 24, 2012 (edited) So about 2 weeks later it is much better, but still has a long way to go. Edited December 24, 2012 by MBVette
Coral Hind December 24, 2012 December 24, 2012 Looking good. Another two weeks, probably less, and it will be time to find that guy a new home.
MBVette January 2, 2013 Author January 2, 2013 So the director who closes up the building just txt me about the sea hare. I thought you would enjoy this
Coral Hind January 3, 2013 January 3, 2013 That is funny. Do have any security cameras point in that direction? If it is out of algea you can feed it nori.
MBVette January 3, 2013 Author January 3, 2013 Unfortunately the only camera in the lobby faces the front door which is the opposite direction of the tank. I wish I could see him as I have never seen him awake since I leave at 4ish and he comes out at 630 or so. Thanks for the heads up on the nori. I will pick some up tomorrow. I have someone that is going to take him, we just need to meet in the evening bc he is hiding under my biggest rock formation and I can't get to his hideout.
