LED 300G Marineland DD

Going to be making the transition to LED. Need to hear from people who have a large tank with LEDs and a mixed reef, stony predominant. Thinking about 6 Radion vs 6 AI Vega. Any input from experience?

If you're willing to buy 6 Radions, why not look at the Vertex Lumina fixture? IT's the best LED on the market right now.

That's because the new model is coming out in 2 months and they need to clear out the old models first. And it's not just BRS. It's any authorized radion dealer.

The only reason I have not considered the Vertex is bc if anything changes I can use, keep or sell any of the individual units. Also with 2 units per section I won't have to worry about dark edges. I don't know that the Radions will be any better plus you can always upgrade with a kit

i have the 150g DD. its half the size. had 2 radions over it.

 

several folks on RC have the 300g DD with radions over it. you can google "300g marineland DD radions" and get some threads and videos too.

 

we do have a few folks here with LEDs over a tank this size. they may not have seen this thread yet. laura, ray, etc.

 

we also have folks who made the switch and hated it. oldreefer (bill) has a big tank and made the switch. he wasnt happy with the LEDs at all. not sure if he has switched back yet.
