Spelter July 20, 2012 July 20, 2012 I am new to the DC metro area and finally in a permanent location. I have never had a tank this big before so this should be quite a learning experience for me. I picked up the 90 gallon, 30 gallon sump, skimmer (not sure what model could use some help with the ID) and stand plus some other stuff from Diogenes. I got it all home in and ontop off my ford focus, unfortunately no photos of that but it was quite an ordeal. He said he got it from another WAMAS member a while ago, I am also curious who that was. Here is the tank and likely location. I have actually moved it left to be closer to the support beam. I checked and it is level, but is it OK to have carpet underneath? The room to the right has a large sink so I have easy access to water and a drain. I plan to remove all that stuff on the shelves soon. Here is the unknown skimmer. Its a reef octopus and the pump says OCT-2000. The smaller bottom port was damaged (cracked) but was repaired with weld-on 14; Is this a potential problem? Here is the return pump a Mag 9.5 I guess?. Seems to have a very small outlet. I have no pictures of my sump yet. I just purchased the acrylic and will update with progress on that this weekend. I am shooting to make mine identical to SKaustins on tropicalfishkeeping. Picture below p.s I am trying to resize these images but they cant seem to get any smaller.
Spelter July 23, 2012 Author July 23, 2012 (edited) Survived putting in the baffles this weekend. I had to score and snap them, but got pretty clean edges. Later I am going install a splash guard for the drain, filter sock holder, and the light diffuser in the middle section. Also obtained all (i think) the pieces I need to being plumbing the tank. .
