I just bought some of that "steel" epoxy putty to mount my corals. The stuff that came with the tank when I bought it has been used up and I couldn't find the same kind. Is there a "bad" putty? What should I look for on the package to make sure it's not going to hurt my tank?

Thanks,

Steve

HD sells (sold) a tube like the aquastik only it's grayish.

I've used it and not had problems.

Once the outer layer gets a crust, it doesn't mix good so pitch it.

I got this stuff from Lowe's and it's the grey two tone putty (squish it together to get it to harden). I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to be putting anything bad into the tank.

Thanks.

Steve,

Sounds like the same stuff I used several years ago.

Lowes huh? Black and white label clear container with red cap?

I see we got bumped till Friday, not a problem on my end.

I'm not going to trust this stuff.....it's a black and white label but is isn't the Aquastick putty.

Friday it is. The stuff will be available for pickup Friday (I'll post when I receive it) or Saturday.

Steve

Send it with dchild or come on up and we'll use it in mine.

I'm confident it's the same stuff I used a few years back.

There's a outer coated green one out there but I haven't seen that one for 10 years.

I bet aquastik is the same stuff just repackaged for the hobby.

Who would have thunk we'd be using superglue gel.

I've used CVS brand gel since we moved the family to McLean 8 years ago.

Thanks again for doing the order and let me know.

steve creturs and critters on 123 in woodbridge sells holdfast wich is ok for aqua use. HTH G
