Can someone please take a look and let me know what this is.

It is the consistency of a smushy sponge (not as firm as say a ball sponge and is fingered throughout the rock crevices.

I have always had this stuff in my tank but usually it was under rocks or in a more shaded area. This stuff

gets a lot of lite and is thriving. I always assumed it was just a sponge but want to make sure. Thanks!

does it grow like long fiber? Is it a little purplr or pink. Sponge.

It is fibrous but pure white. I added a better pic from top down view, but still small.

That's it, thanks. I assume its harmless, but not the most attractive sponge!

ding, ding, ding!! Angels love the stuff. Also a sign of a really healthy reef.
