Protein Skimmer advise

Hi all

 

I am in the market for a new protein skimmer for my current 75 gallon mixed reef tank (soon to be a 60 gallon cube). Right now I am running a Aqua C Remora HOB skimmer that I am pretty happy with, but now I am going to move to an insump skimmer. I welcome all recomendations with explanations or personal experience.

I use an SWC and love it, but if I were looking to buy a new one then it would be an AVAST no doubt.

I'm anal about noise. I run a Alpha 170 and am very happy with it.

I just order the knock off SCA-302 skimmer for my 75gal tank. I'll let you know how it goes when the skimmer is here.

They have a pretty good reviews on reefcentral.

Go with the CS-1. It's inexpensive for the performance you get out of it, and the customer service is local. What's not to like?
