T3D August 1, 2005 August 1, 2005 Just wanted to introduce myself. :D I have a 20L with 40 lbs sand 30 lbs of live rock. I also Have 2 occ clowns, and 1 madarin dragonet.. clean up crew consists of: 8 baby hermits, 5 turbo snails. Im running the skilter 250 with 2 zoomed powersweeps. My tank has been up since the beginning of june, and have had no problems. Lighting is 130(2X65) watt coralife pc , both bulbs are 50/50.... I just added the mandarin about 2 weeks ago and so far so good. When i turn on thee lights I still see many copepods. They're tough to keep with a limited supply of live pods...
Jon Lazar August 2, 2005 August 2, 2005 Dosing phytoplankton will also help your 'pod population. Just don't overdo it, especially with your relatively small environment. You might also try training your mandarin to eat baby brine shrimp, and hatch them yourself. Happy reefing, Jon Fuge will help with that mandarin. They're tough to keep with a limited supply of live pods... 35758[/snapback]
