mindeeo March 24, 2012 Share March 24, 2012 We are rearranging our sump, and found it infested with these things. They appear to be most prevalent in the drain chamber of the sump. I am including close up pictures, and another for context. The appear to be plump (tall as wide), and gross! Also, although there are many, they appear inactive and don't really move. Any input is greatly appreciate!
Coral Hind March 24, 2012 Share March 24, 2012 Syconoid sponges, they are sometimes called pineapple sponges. Totally harmless unless you have a low flow overflow, then they can grow enough to block it, Just ask Chad.

mindeeo March 24, 2012 Author Share March 24, 2012 Hmmmm.... I guess I will live with sponges, and hope to not relive Chad's situation. Thanks everyone for helping us out! You are making this so much easier!
