Nice job on the stand. So I see a wood trimmed sump and then also a black trimmed sump in the works. Are both sumps going to be used? What type of lighting are you going to use?

Nice job all around. The new sump is looking good. You could turn the older sump into a nice fuge and have a nice mangrove forest!

Keep the pics coming. Very interested to see how the final set up is going to look.

Great start! I am looking forward to seeing more!

(You also may consider using a third party site like photobucket or flickr to host your pictures, as you may run in to an attachment limit fairly quickly this way)

Looks great. Makes me wish I would have painted up my stand before I put everything together.

Thanks :)

I was testing out which sump would fit better. But i settled with the black trim. For now I bought a last min solarmaxHE T5 (21W x2) w/ 6 moolight leds. But pitched in on a group buy w Rob to get a real LED light. :)

Looking good, but I am afraid you lost me on the computer screen. Is that the sump design?

Looks great! my only question is have you turned everything off to see where the water level in the sump is at incase of a power outage?

Good question! I got an UPS just in case...

Yes, but the UPS will fail when it is needed :) I would make sure you can handle the power failure without a water spill. Easier to fix than to clean up the water when it happens IMHO.

Absolutely. Keep the water level in the sump such that it can handle the overflow from the tank if necessary. A ups can't help you if the pump burns out. It also makes it easier to work on stuff knowing you can turn off the pump for maintenance issues.

Similarly, I balance the water level in the tank/return chamber so that if my overflow fails the tank can hold the extra water.
