Currently my 14g BC is empty after the cat ate te clowns. It is swarming with pods right now, the are all over the sand bed and the walls. Could a mandarin survive long term in there?

You could if you plan to supplement its diet. You would quickly run out of pods otherwise. Unless you get lucky and he eats prepared foods.

I got lucky with mine. Randomly he will eat pellets, but tears up cyclopeze and frozen brine. I know people have trained them to eat pellets. I have never tried and trained any, I am sure there has to be someone on Wamas who has. If not, try and google it.

just from experience I wouldn't do it... even if you get one to get cyopleeze (sp?) or something you would feed that small system so much you will develop other issues...
