BowieReefer84 January 8, 2012 Share January 8, 2012 I saw this thing standing on its "tail" and releasing white dots into the water column from it's "mouth?" Anyways, I wasn't able to snag a pic of that, but I took one of it hiding back in a rock. It is about 3/4" creature by mteske1, on Flickr Any ideas? BowieReefer84 January 9, 2012 Author Share January 9, 2012 Maybe a chiton? Not sure where it would have come from.
BowieReefer84 January 9, 2012 Author Share January 9, 2012 Answered my own question. It is a chiton, and must be spawing because there are some very small ones in my system... The small ones look much different from the one above. I'll post a pic of the babies later...

davelin315 January 9, 2012 Share January 9, 2012 Your picture doesn't much look like a chiton, to me looks more like a slug or snail, possibly a tiny cucumber.
BowieReefer84 January 9, 2012 Author Share January 9, 2012 (edited) hmm... The "shell" is smooth... maybe a stomatella? I am SURE it is this! http://www.reefcorner.com/SpecimenSheets/stomatella_varia.htm Says how it goes to a highpoint and releases eggs. This is what I saw.
