I picked up two Green Mandarin gobies at Petland during their social. Now they seem to be doing what I saw on a youtube video, a mating dance. One is obviously larger, and the small one has a large bulge in "her" underside. My wrasse even swam by to investigate. But the larger mandarin (male?) put "himself" between it and the "female". I know nothing of how they spawn or even if I could ATTEMPT to raise the fry. Does anyone have any info? I dont have much space, but would love to learn more on this subject. My hope was that these two would become a mated pair. Now I think they have! Just need my phone charging so I can try and get a video...

Here is a link to the video.

cool llike to see some pictures if they do spawn

also I would be in for a male and female if they hatch and you r sucessful....

Lol I doubt I could get into breeding them any time soon. I'm also pretty sure there are plenty of members with this happening. I am just excited mine are! That and very curious as to how they can be raised. Who knows what the future holds? Maybe some day!

I can't find any info on breeding them (still looking), but your male should have a much longer dorsal fin than your female. Are they dancing in the evening yet? Pics of the lovely couple!

Ours spawn when the lights go out, I believe they release the eggs in the water column and you have to catch them so they don't get eaten and filtered out. I had a magazine with an article on how to raise them but I will have to look for it not sure what mag it was in.

My dragonats do the mating dance everytime the light goes out. They are fun to watch. If they release eggs into the water column, mine have probably already some that got eaten. Here's my dragonet mating dance vid:

Thanks for the great link treesprite! Now I really want to try a small batch. But it will be quite a while before I can even attempt!

Yes yaitz they were dancing! I will need to get a red light, but they are great at avoiding bring seen. A soon as I get within a few get of the tank they hide.
