Mando77 December 23, 2011 December 23, 2011 Sometime shortly I hope I plan on getting a frag tank up and running. I wanted to get some input/advice from anyone who has one. This is a first for me and I could use a few tips. I want to avoid any major mistakes. Here are is a pic and a design layout of something I think would do OK. The first Pic is just the few items I currently have, and I was just laying out to get an idea. I want my design to be simple and make sure it works well. I plan on growing out SPS and high end zoas under 4x54 watt T5 lighting. Any help would be appreciated.
Coral Hind December 23, 2011 December 23, 2011 What will you use for circulation? What are the tank's diamensions?
Mando77 December 23, 2011 Author December 23, 2011 Tank is 48 long, 17 wide and 7 1/2 high. I have 4-5 smaller koreilla power heads. I was told the return pump will be more than plenty of flow.
LanglandJoshua December 23, 2011 December 23, 2011 If you are going for SPS, you may want more flow. For any coral you will really need to make sure you have enough rock on the system. As well as really keep your chem levels stable. Ive had a couple zoas that looked fine for a week. And then some little spike hit and I lost my zoas... I dont have much in the way of SPS, but Ive been told they can be incredibly picky.
