angel not fish October 16, 2011 October 16, 2011 Yesterday night I lost my 4 years 6 " foxface, and I am trying to understand what happened everything was ok just moments before. Water is ok, no sign of attack, was eating well, he was sourcing for the cleaner shrimp but I haven't seen nothing, couple hours before his last moments, he "lost a skin cuticle" but I have seen it before so it do not got my attention. What I am thinking is the possibility of internal parasite, one his eyes was a little cloud.
Coral Hind October 16, 2011 October 16, 2011 Did he die with his gills spread open, was he breathing heavy at all the last few hours.
davelin315 October 17, 2011 October 17, 2011 I think he wanted to know whether the gills were flared out when it was dead or if it simply was lying there. Flared gills can be an indication of issues with tank chemistry such as low oxygen or toxins in the water that cause the gills to burn hence labored breathing and death.
