Omair September 30, 2011 September 30, 2011 (edited) I'm a new aquarist, and I am a month into my first tank - a 180 gallon with 40 gallon sump. Pretty big for a first tank, but my buddy always wished he had started big and so I did. Regardless, I was able to score some really premium fiji rock with coraline algae from him. The rock is great, happy to have them in my tank, but what I'm concerned about is this starfish that came along for the ride. I'm not sure what it is. Is it safe for my tank? Does anyone know what kind of starfish it is? What does it eat? Hopefully not my watchman Goby! Edited September 30, 2011 by Omair
hypertech September 30, 2011 September 30, 2011 I can only see the thumbnail. Looks like a brittle star or serpent star. It's a good scavenger and a nice freebie. Not likely to bother your goby unless it were pretty sick.
Ryan S September 30, 2011 September 30, 2011 +1 safe and great. +2. That's a $10 free hitchhiker! Good find http://www.saltwaterfish.com/Serpent-Starfish_p_390.html
