Coral Hind September 28, 2011 September 28, 2011 How long has the tank been set up? What types of corals do you have? Are you using an R/O filter?
Saltwaterworx September 28, 2011 September 28, 2011 Adding on to that.. How old are the bulbs, and how long do you keep your lights on now? Phosphate and phosphorus MAYbe something to check for. Depending on how you answer the questions here and from Coral Hind.

jsndvl1 September 28, 2011 September 28, 2011 The first picture looks like a Kenya tree, the 2nd and 3rd look like some type of polyp. Is that a Powder Brown Tang? I think 34Gallons is a little small for that fish.
Thaddeus September 28, 2011 Author September 28, 2011 yeah that is a Tang, he will have a new home soon. I want to upgrade to larger but my girlfriend told me I have to get rid of this one first. I have been scared to purchase much for this tank being I am still so green in the hobby, my co-worker blessed me with him(the tang). When I got him he was in there alone, and I added the Chromis. Thanks for the help The first picture looks like a Kenya tree, the 2nd and 3rd look like some type of polyp. Is that a Powder Brown Tang? I think 34Gallons is a little small for that fish.
Saltwaterworx September 28, 2011 September 28, 2011 Nice tank. I have to agree. The tank doesnt look bad at all. The 2nd coral looks to be brown palys or button polyps, the 3rd, (insert carzy name here) orange zoos. 7.5 hours of light per day on the tank should be ok for now considering whats in there. For aesthetic purposes, a weekly scraping of the glass will knock out the algae.

Thaddeus October 4, 2011 Author October 4, 2011 Thanks Ryan, the junk growing on the back wall is ------? The back wall is plastic.......cant clean it with a magnet....should I just scrap that??? That doesn't look so bad to me. You just need a mag-float!
Ryan S October 4, 2011 October 4, 2011 Thanks Ryan, the junk growing on the back wall is ------? The back wall is plastic.......cant clean it with a magnet....should I just scrap that??? Absolutely. Any fish tank brush will rub that right off, no scraping needing. Like this one: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752193
