bbyatv June 23, 2011 June 23, 2011 After 4 failed attempts at keeping Copperbands, I finally have one that eats food out of the water column. I have kept one for 6 moths that ate aiptasia. But eventually he died when the aiptasia ran out. Then I had 2 that only ate live stuff on the rocks and I think there was just not enough. I lost a 4th in the fire I had on my tank. Now, I finally got one that eats food right out of the water. He is eating frozen brine like crazy. When I saw him in the store he had just arrived and was still in the bag. He seemed very pesky. He was jabbing at the bag and seemed like he wanted to get out and eat something. I was right. He eats all right. I am so pleased. I just love the look of the Copperband. Bruce
ridetheducati June 23, 2011 June 23, 2011 Good deal. I have one in my display for five months. He eradicated all aiptasia, roughly 1000 in one month. I try to keep a few aiptasia inside my overflows to keep the them flourishing. My Copperband does eat blackworms, bloodworms, and mysis shrimp. I keep SPS and clams.
hypertech June 23, 2011 June 23, 2011 Good luck, and I really mean that. They are great fish. I had one that ate great right from the beginning. Seemed to be fat, active, and as far as I could tell as healthy as could be. But then, one day around 4 or 6 months or so - dead, stuck to the powerhead. I had watched it swim around and eat the night before looking as good as could be. Then - bam - dead.
moga June 23, 2011 June 23, 2011 Great!!! i failed about the same number as yours.. i got this healthy one. but didn't eat and getting weaker and weaker. i had plenty of aptisia for a while but it ran out. So I tried live brine shrimp. He ate!!!!!!!!!! and i made him to be healthy with live brine shrimp i faked him with dead one as well.. now he eats frozen shrimp off from my hand!!!!!!!
