Expanding on my post... I have the most current reefkeeper lite. I joined the da forum, and downloaded the software. Updated the SID and RKL. I see them both, but I do NOT see how to get a menu for programming.

Do I need to have the PC4 plugged in, or just the sid to the female/female connector to the display?

How/where should the menu appear, and when?

I use it and plugged it into the SL1, no real problems there. Before I did this, I also took each piece and upgraded them one by one. Then after the upgrade, I was able to see everything once I plugged into the SL1 (while the temp probe was unplugged).

That's the part that annoys me the most, you have to upgrade each piece individually.

Also, everything must be in before you can program the different outlets.

SO, I am attempting to put two dosers on timers, and the heater on control.

I need to have these devices plugged into the PC4, while it is all plugged into a usb on my computer?

I have them upgraded. I only have the lite. Does the temp probe need upgraded as well, or just plugged in?

I see you are in WV... Anyone closer that want's to come show me the in's and out's, or let's me come over I will pay $$$$. I have too much invested to plug this in being unsure.

Send me a pm if interested, and your rate.

Ok, here's what you do, step by step:

1) Plug PC4 into wall socket

2) Plug RKL Head unit into PC4

3) Plug 2nd PC4 into 1st PC4

4) Plug SL1 (or SL2) into 2nd PC4

5) Plug in SID into SL1 (or SL2)

6) Plug SID into USB

7) Open up MyReef 2.0

8) You should see all your devices

From here you can customize the naming of the PC4s, and the outlets.

When programming the individual outlets, you'll have to select the module (PC4) that they're on, and give it the parameters that you want, like Heater set to 79.x with Histerix or whatever it is to .2 or something like that. This will mean that it'll turn your heater on when it's .2* lower than what your setting is (say 79.5), and when it reaches 79.7 it'll turn your heater off.

It's pretty simple once you wrap yourself around their logic.

Maybe this is a dumb question but where do I download MyReef 2.0 from? I just got my RKL like two months ago and for the love of God, I cannot locate where to download the software!

You have to create an account on DA's forum...from there you'll be able to see the software download. I believe you cannot download it without the account.

Took me a minute too. It's not easy. Joing their forum, and go to software... Its right at the top

Thanks dude! I was going crazy! IMHO, it is silly not to include the download instructions for the software in the box!

Yea, it's really odd. I guess the myreef is optional? I don't get it quite yet. I am going to take some time and sit down with it this week.

Another thing is I can't plug in all three jacks at the same time. So I can't setup my heater to be governed by RKL because it won't give me an option because it is not plugged in to my PC4. I can't plug the splitter in one of the male heads because of the stupid plastic extension on my PC4. I need to go get an extension splitter I guess.

Could I use a splitter and plug in more than one probe thru the same jack u think?

No idea what you are talking about.

Sorry if that was unclear. I only have one PC4 and it comes with 2 sockets, right? So when I am programming stuff, all needs to be plugged in. So I needed an extension socket thingy and I modified that white splitter that came with RKL in order to be able to plug that into my PC4 and problem solved! (I hope this was clearer...)

Thanks!

HELP!?!?!

Ok, I am attempting to set my heater on the controller using the temp probe. Also, I want to set up two BRS dosers on the timers to run multiple times a day for 3-4 minutes each time.

I am going to post some screenshots to show where I am at with things.

First setting up the Heater:

Does that look right to keep it set?

Next, the Doser pumps. I am using multi-timer right now, and not sure if there is a better option? Screenshots...

Next once I click "timer setup."

I know I would have to set the 3rd channel for my second timer. One on Alk and the other on Calc.

Any tips please?

I really appreciate all the help this thread has provided to get me this far!

Thanks,

Mike
