paul b April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 If you travel a lot it is a pain to explain to someone how to feed your tank so I always use this. It is just a small powerhead with a film container stuck to the outflow. The film container has some 1/4" holes in it and it is positioned in the water on the edge of the tank with the top of the container out of the water. Adjust it so that the water just comes out of the 6 or 7 holes and not over the top. I just keep this contraption running on the front edge of the tank and I have pre mixed frozen food in the freezer. The person feeding the tank just drops in a cube of frozen food that I also have in film containers. It thaws in the film container on the powerhead and gets dispersed throughout the tank. No guessing.
Swimboy123 April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 That's a pretty good idea. Thanks for sharing
Incredible Corals April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 Good idea, I would have probably told someone to just drop the cube in and the fish will figure it out.

You could do that but it usually floats under a rock and rots or a big fish eats the entire thing Edited April 30, 2011 by paul b
LCDRDATA April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 You could do that but it usually floats under a rock and rots or a big fish eats the entire thing ... or the whole cube drifts straight to the overflow and it all goes into your sump.
FearTheTerps May 1, 2011 Share May 1, 2011 Great idea, too bad I'm on vacation this weekend though. Had to teach my sister to feed the fish.
