What supplements need to go into an aquarium?

I have had my aquarium up and running for about 3 months, is there any supplements that need to go into the tank to protect the coral, fish, and get rid of algae.

the best supplements are : you have strong skimmer, water change, dont add anytype of chemical. ( that what im think and do for my tank)

you need to add calcium, alkalinity, and possibly magnesium.

You need to test first and see if you need to add anything. If you have lightly loaded tank then just doing water changes and not adding anything else like "learning" mentioned is fine. If you have a the tank stocked with things like stoney coals then you may have to add the items that "zygote2k" listed. The important thing is to test the water to find out what and how much you need to dose.
