steveoutlaw September 27, 2010 Share September 27, 2010 Ok, so I'm filling in all the gaps and sanding down everything so nicely.........so do I spray it black, or brush it black? Also, do I put any kind of finish over the paint to protect it, or is the paint enough?
epleeds September 27, 2010 Share September 27, 2010 i would use spray polyurethane to cover the stand after you paint.
CHUBAKAH September 27, 2010 Share September 27, 2010 (edited) Use an exterior acrylic paint, or epoxy furniture paint. Poly is designed to go over stain, not paint. Also, black shows every imperfection so be sure to spray it to minimize brush strokes, or anything else. sachabballi reef September 30, 2010 Share September 30, 2010 i just painted my black last week over existing stain with a regular brush and used spray poly over it and it came out fantastic...no brust strokes at all. I just used a tip I read on here from your last thread about using a lot of paint on the brush to keep the strokes at bay and it worked perfectly...was awesome advice. I used exterior paint as well from HD in a semi.
