OUsnakebyte September 21, 2010 Share September 21, 2010 NY Times Article It's been a very hot summer, indeed. I was afraid of this since we were all set to go to Belize this year and then didn't since the Acroporids spawned a month earlier than expected (after the July full moon, not August as predicted). Apparently, over 2/3 of the Caribbean hit 26C in May; it typically hits that mark in August. With that much warming so soon, I feared another bad bleaching year. Alas... sigh... Coral Hind September 21, 2010 Share September 21, 2010 Wow, that is some bad news. The picture of the bleached clam is really sad.

davelin315 September 24, 2010 Share September 24, 2010 I hadn't even noticed that that was a clam. You should definitely attend the next meeting, Mary Hagerdon is going to talk about coral losses in our oceans.
