truestelf February 3, 2010 February 3, 2010 Wanted to know if the deal i got offered today was a good one or not, been awhile sense i bought a new tank. Got offered a 72 bow front with built in overflow, has a 4 bulb t-5 fixture on top, a nice bow front black stand , a refugium for the sump , a protein skimmer, and a powerhead. all for $300.00
Grav February 3, 2010 February 3, 2010 Sounds like a very good deal, assuming they are in good shape. That tank alone would retail for more than $300. Of course yer going to spend a LOT more than $300 on it though... could be the most expensive "deal' you ever make. I got a 150g acrylic tank worth prolly $1,000 for $65 one time and it cost me a fortune.
cabrego February 3, 2010 February 3, 2010 IMO it depends on the quality of the light and accessories. Alot of time, if you do not know what you are looking for, you might realize the extras are junk. Take the time to research the items, you might just have an OK deal and not a really good deal. For example, even if the fixture is quality the bulbs might need to be replaced and that alone is over 100 dollars. What do you know about the skimmer? if everything is good quality and in good shape, it is probably a decent deal. If the lights are crappy, skimmer questionable and tank/stand scratched up it is probably worth trying to get it at a much better price.
steveoutlaw February 3, 2010 February 3, 2010 Sounds like a good deal. You can always ask for details of the items included in the package and we can tell you if they are good or if you will eventually have to replace them.
truestelf February 3, 2010 Author February 3, 2010 forgot to mention a 20 gallon tank with stand, skimmer and refug is also included in the 300.00
