tischdog32 December 2, 2009 Share December 2, 2009 I think I know the answer to this question, but when I am topping off the water in my tank, I usually just use straight RODI water. I keep my tanks sg around 1.023, can i premix my water to 1.023, and use that as top off, or will that bring up my sg, since i am adding more salt to the system? Use straight unsalted water for just top-off.
epleeds December 2, 2009 Share December 2, 2009 the reason the top off currently keeps your salinity the same is because the water evaps, but the salt stays in the water. if you add saltwater as your top off, your salinity will increase...
