Hilary November 19, 2009 November 19, 2009 (edited) Sorry, no pictures. I've been trying to catch this little guy before administering Interceptor-o-death to the tank. I originally thought he was the porcelain crab I put in the tank a couple of months ago, but don't think so now. He has red striped legs, is definitely not a hermit, and has blunt, roundish front claws. Any ideas? I'll take a pic if I ever catch him, but he likes the little holes in the rock. I can find him most nights picking at the rock, but is usually in a place where he can duck in before I can snag him..... Edited November 19, 2009 by Hilary
Jan November 19, 2009 November 19, 2009 Could he be a Halloween hermit crab? They'r very cool looking.
Hilary November 19, 2009 Author November 19, 2009 Beautiful crab! Definitely not that, though - he's not carrying a shell around, and the stripes appear to be red and (kind of) white.....
Jan November 19, 2009 November 19, 2009 Hmmm, red bait crab? If not check here... http://www.julianrocks.net/crustaceans/crustaceans.htm
CHUBAKAH November 19, 2009 November 19, 2009 Any chance it is one of the red crabs AQUACO, and or Pacific East had this past summer? Trying to remember where those were from.
Hilary November 19, 2009 Author November 19, 2009 The little Hawaiian strawberries? Cool crabs, but although I did buy a couple none went into that tank. I'm wondering if maybe it could be a porcelain crab after all - I found this pic on the net: Porcelain Crab
mogurnda November 19, 2009 November 19, 2009 May be a porcelain crab. I have had these guys ride in on Gulf live rock pretty regularly.
