Hello Fish Lovers!

Here is your weekly Marine Scene update.   On the NEW list this week we

have: Palythoa Polyps, Green Linkia Starfish, a Blue Assessor, a Yellow

Assessor, Jumbo Feather Dusters, Corky Sea Fingers, Staghorn Hermit Crabs

and a black Sun Coral.  Our shipment of corals this week was very impressive

and includes a very large piece of pink and green Acropora and a large piece

of neon green Fox Coral.

We are offering a new kit of ESV supplements. The kit includes calcium,

magnesium, iodine, strontium and a carbonate alkalinity buffer.  The whole

kit should cover your basic supplemental needs.  The reduced price of the

kit is $68.99 (this is over 10% off the retail price!).

Select grade corals are back on sale. Buy one at 10% off, two at 15% off, three or more at 20%

off.

The coolest fish of the week is actually a trio.  We had a drop off of four

medium triggers who grew up together and get along just fine.  One is

already spoken for but there is a Picasso, a Bursa and a Niger left.  These

guys are so cute together and I would hate to split them up.  So if you have

a large fish only tank come in and check out the "Three Amigos".  The

coolest coral of the week is a Mycedium that has gone unnoticed for about

three weeks now.  This coral has a nice velvety texture and neon green

spots.  Don't overlook this healthy coral next time.

See you soon!

Subject: Weekend Update from the Marine Scene

------- ALL SMART-LITE POWER COMPACT FIXTURES 30% OFF! --------------------

 Greetings everyone!

Here is your weekly Marine Scene update.  We received some nice new corals in this week.  We have a captive bred Devil's Hand that has pretty yellow polyps.  There are several impressive Plate Corals available.  If your into SPS corals check out the purple and pink Encrusting Montipora, it looks almost fuzzy with it's polyps out.  We even have a poisonous coral, it is called Palythoa.  Palythoa polyps produce a mucus that has Palytoxin which is a neuromuscular agent and is harmful when it gets into the body.  Pacific tribes even used Palytoxin on the tips of their spears to paralyze their prey and enemies.  These corals will only harm you if you get the mucus in your system through an open wound or ingestion.  Palythoa polyps make for an interesting conversation piece and a beautiful addition to your reef!

Some other new items include a few assorted gorgonians and a variety of macro algae including shaving brush, great for a lower light system.  If you've got a high light reef, we have some gorgeous Maxima clams with bright blue markings.

If you like babies, you have to check out our baby Potter's Angel. This little guy is only about an inch, and cute as the day is long.

Did you know that Watchman, or shrimp gobies, have a symbiotic relationship with the pistol shrimp?  Although the pistol shrimp has poor eyesight he is a great digger, so the shrimp will dig a burrow in the substrate while the goby keeps his eyes peeled for predators.  When a threat comes near the pistol shrimp is ready with his antenna touching the goby's tail fin, with one flick of the tail the goby, and the shrimp dive deep into their tunnel for safety.  The Goby also does the hunting for the couple bringing food back to the burrow.  If you want to see this couple in action come by and see our Yashia goby and pistol shrimp pair.  They are perfect for each other, they even have matching red and white markings!

See you soon!
