treesprite June 29, 2009 June 29, 2009 I need to borrow a T-5 fixture immediately PLEASE! I was messing with my fixture and there was apparently a loose wire afterwards, but the lights would come on if I just gave the fixture a tap. Today the lights didn't come on so I fiddled with the wires and the lights came on, but I don't know which wire exactly was loose. As soon as I put the lights back up they flicked out and now I can't get them to come back on. As of 15 minutes ago I have a weak mish mash on the tank of a 36" 2-bulb T-5, 36" single bulb T-5, 20" single PC, another 20" single PC, and a 36" single NO - not enough light for SPS. I'm trying to keep my cash to move closer to work, so buying all new lighting is out. Thanks in advance!
Amuze June 29, 2009 June 29, 2009 That should be fine for you to use until you buy another light. You're going to need one anyway so you might as well spring for it now while you can. I ran just two actinic T5's over my tank for a little over two weeks and had no ill effects on my SPS.

treesprite June 29, 2009 Author June 29, 2009 I hope you guys are right. I plan to build a hood, but don't want to do it until after I move.

sheffboyrd June 30, 2009 June 30, 2009 (edited) I've got a 150w PFO pendant you can take and use for a little bit if you decide you need some extra light. Edited June 30, 2009 by sheffboyrd
treesprite July 3, 2009 Author July 3, 2009 YAY! Fixture is back up on the tank. Ironically, the ballast that was not previously in operation, which I thought might be bad, is the one I've got running the bulbs (can't run both 'cause I'm missing endcaps). Thank you to the people who offered loaner light All is fine now.
