So I'm in a LFS today. Looks like an excellent store with great reputation. There's a green chromis on the cheap and its peaceful, reef safe and nice. I try to find someone to bag it and then a big blue tang comes out of the LR and starts rubbing himself madly back and forth on the rock really fast. Ich or some parasite?

I'm thinking LFSs don't have the time & money to quarantine all fish (let alone all livestock). But what does an LFS do when they have ich throughout their system? It must be a huge job to get ich out of a big multi tank system.

Yes, it probably is a huge job, but that's their business. That's what they do...

All of the reputable LFS locally quarantine. It's in their best interest to have healthy livestock to sell.
