L8 2 RISE April 12, 2009 April 12, 2009 Here's the pics so far of my stand build today. Dimensions are: 7'2" * 41" * 38". The tanks will be on it in a sort of "L" shape, with a standard 75 on one side, then a 36*36*21 on the end, the 75 being for cuttles, and the 120 cube as a reef. You can see the original draft in the rough google sketch at the bottom. The dimensions are different though because I was planing on just putting a 60 on the end... after staring at my empty 75 for about a year though, I started feeling that it was too small already , so I bumped it up.... One of the goals was to fit a rubbermaid stock tank beneath for a refugium, originally it was going to be a 50, but then we decided to make the stand taller so that you couldn't see behind it, and then a little taller (2 in) to allow a 100 gallon... we then had to change the plans in the middle of the build and make it 41 instead of the intended 36-38 inches wide in order to make removing the tank in case of emergency plausible (notice the plausible, definetly NOT easy). We also want to be able to disassemble and assemble it relatively easily, so we have the four sides which we will bolt together tomorrow, and cap it with some plywood. We won't finish it until we have the plumbing and what not done though.... anywho, enjoy the pics And the google sketch of the original (smaller) stand....
TROLL April 12, 2009 April 12, 2009 I like the design! Almost alike to my 330g stand, it was much complicated as in more beams for support. Are your going with walnut cover, trim, etc for your stand? Or just plain cover with door? I like seeing the progression on fancy cover, all that nice routing on edge, trims, and stain

It'll probably be at least another 2-3 months before I really start covering it... I still have the sump to make/buy, and the 36*36*21 tank...
YBeNormal April 12, 2009 April 12, 2009 Lookin' good! I hope you have a wide patio door to bring that into the house. Most standard entry doors have openings are only 36" wide.

Its made so it can be broken down into the seperate sides very easily, so we're gonna bring it down, then bolt it together. Go with cloth+foam panels . Good progress Thought about it... It might be what I start with untill I have a chance to make a nice cover...
