Has anyone ever removed the framing/bracing on a 10 gallon tank? If so, have you had any problems? How did you do it?

TIA,

The framing/bracing of the top of the tank is structural and assures that the corner joints will not come un-done.  Recommend not doing it.

What is your reasoning for doing the mod?

I don't think a 10 gallon would have a problem to be honest if it was removed- but I'd really go back over it with some new silicon.  For some re-assurance though, I would would put some glass triangles in the corners :)

In all seriousness, when we were up at Penn State, Sanjay had some 24x24x20 tanks with no bracing at all- top or bottom.
