JC Pollman January 19, 2009 Share January 19, 2009 I built a plywood tank years ago, and now want to remove it to build a new one. The front glass is siliconed in, and I was wondering if there is any easy way to take it off. Not only would I like to save the glass, but the tank would be much lighter without it, and hence, easier to remove. Note: this is inside, and fumes can be an issue. Coral Hind January 19, 2009 Share January 19, 2009 They make silicone removers and they are available at most home improvement stores. I have also used acetone and denatured alcohol. If you don't want fumes the a razor blade might be your best bet.

jason the filter freak January 19, 2009 Share January 19, 2009 AWESOME to see you back on the boards, it's not half bad with a sharp razor.
extreme_tooth_decay January 19, 2009 Share January 19, 2009 I'd go with a razor blade, but might take a while. Also, if you don't want to save the glass, you could always just break it.
