lanman January 1, 2009 Share January 1, 2009 I decided a while back at someone's suggestion to add a 3rd DC-8 to my AC-III for controlling the 'other' two tanks in the basement. There was some concern because the instructions say don't add a phone cord over 10'. My tanks were about 15' away. I haven't found a 15-foot cord, so I hooked up a 25' cord. It seems to be working just fine. The Corallife fire-hazard timer is now disconnected. Just a little FYI, in case someone wanted to control a tank 25 feet away from their AC-III. bob
flowerseller January 1, 2009 Share January 1, 2009 The key is to use quality cable and make clean opposite end connectors. Solid wire, none of this metal wrapped string line cheapo phone cords can be made of. The 30' run I made ROBZ works just fine.
