Gatortailale November 25, 2008 November 25, 2008 Nikon D40 Deals The Nikon D40, the world's best camera for the dollar, is now selling brand-new for only $445, and refurbished for only $375. Each of these prices includes the excellent 18-55mm II AF-S ED lens, also one of my favorites. follow link to find more details on where to buy. http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/00-new-today.htm I got a factory refurbished D70s a few years ago and I'm over 5,000 + pics and zero issues.
MisterTang November 25, 2008 November 25, 2008 +1 - this camera will rock your face off BTW Craig, can you recommend a good macro lens?
vaironman November 25, 2008 November 25, 2008 (edited) I am so confuse now after reading Craig's recommended link. 1) D40 for the best bang of the bucks. 2) Canon G10. Small, can carry anywhere without the bulk of DSLR, similar price as D40 and a lots more can say with a G10. 3) D90, twice the prices and plenty of feature that I'll never be able to use them all like the professional phisig79. Can't never keep up with these toys. D40 with 18mm - 200mm VR lense. Edited November 26, 2008 by vaironman
Gatortailale November 26, 2008 Author November 26, 2008 +1 - this camera will rock your face off BTW Craig, can you recommend a good macro lens? I like what kenrockwell says on his reviews. He has reviewed almost every nikon and cannon lens - at least ones he got his hands on. other like - i tink dpreview.com. Chris -143gadgets is better one to ask on macro lens.
dshnarw November 26, 2008 November 26, 2008 +1 - this camera will rock your face off BTW Craig, can you recommend a good macro lens? Not Craig, but the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 and Nikon's 105mm f/2.8 macro lenses are great choices I am so confuse now after reading Craig's recommended link. I'd go D40 and use the money saved from the D90 to buy lenses - after all, the photographer is most important element, followed by the glass he/she uses. Camera bodies on DSLRs isnt nearly as important. Then again, I do love my Canon G9 for those long trips that I dont wanna carry the bulky stuff.
MisterTang November 26, 2008 November 26, 2008 ...after all, the photographer is most important element Well, that sure explains why most of my pictures suck.
DJBoy98 November 26, 2008 November 26, 2008 What micro/macro lens do you use for your nikon's? is the Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 or f/3.5(?) the standard to use?
