Anyone here a marine biologist? Work in the academic field?

Is anyone here a marine biologist, or in a similar field? I'm curious if there are any programs locally (in the DC area) or the names of the best programs in CA area, if there are any.

 

My work allows me to study part time, and I'm just about finished with my work-related degree. I thought I might branch out and learn more about the science of reef environments!

 

Also, are there any books you would recommend?

I took Marine Biology at NVCC at the Woodbridge campus about 10 years ago. Don't know if it still available.
