Smoothtriqueter September 15, 2008 Author September 15, 2008 anyone know if there is a huge difference if I am using a reflector between the coiled bulbs or the flood florescence? before I go to HD real soon!
extreme_tooth_decay September 15, 2008 September 15, 2008 (edited) anyone know if there is a huge difference if I am using a reflector between the coiled bulbs or the flood florescence? before I go to HD real soon! The flood bulb has the coiled bulb inside it (you can see it when you look at the bulb). I like the flood better since it has a built in reflector (so I don't use the big aluminum reflector). Smoothtriqueter September 15, 2008 Author September 15, 2008 just wondering incase I don't find o they don't have the flood one here. I have a small aluminum reflector already so no biggy. Thanks for all the help ETD! off the HD
jason the filter freak September 15, 2008 September 15, 2008 they're great bulbs the flood lamp ones just make sure you keep you receipt I have them good bad in a month instead of the normal year or so occasionally. I use two of them side by side over a 30 gallon or so sump
Smoothtriqueter September 15, 2008 Author September 15, 2008 (edited) so just as an FYI for anyone else who needs the info....I ended up buying the non-flood because the lumens output was higher by 30 and the lifetime was longer. I also do not have that big of a fuge. ohh and cost less too 3.50 instead of 7.50 Edited September 15, 2008 by Smoothtriqueter
bshriver September 16, 2008 September 16, 2008 I bought 30W (actual not equivalent) 5K ones from bulb0rama.com. I didn't find the ones listed in the thread at home depot, but I will look for them since they are 6.5K kelvin. This link has another source http://www.melevsreef.com/fuge_bulb.html
