Grav April 12, 2008 April 12, 2008 So, my CA reactor has been off line for a while. My old Milwaukee regulator was needed adjusting too often for my taste, and I was out of CO2. So while I waited for my new system (took forever to show up) from Aquarium Plants, the reactor was running water through it with no CO2 for a while. The re-cir pump was off, but the feed pump (MJ600) was running. While hooking it all up today, I saw live copepods and amphipods swimming and crawling around inside the open space of the 1st chamber. Can't imagin they will last long with a PH<7.0 Review of the system: So far seems good, but so did the Milwaukee the 1st day, we will see how long it remains consistant. The unit seems solid and it is easy to dial in a bubble rate. Gagues are bigger and easy to read.

I had the same problem with those crappy Milwaukee regulators. I've found that the Reef Fanatic reg is pretty reliable, if a bit more expensive.
kevinlo April 12, 2008 April 12, 2008 I just purchased the same regulator to replace a Milwaukee at Dan's recommendation. The needle valve actually works on this thing! With a controller and a PH probe in the reactor, I'm not sure precise control is such a concern so this may be overkill but it seems like a quality unit and as a bonus the different form factor fits in it's little location in my stand a bit better. Here's a link if anyone is interested: Aquarium plants regulator
