WallyBackm March 25, 2008 March 25, 2008 I am about to start to set up my 120 with 40 gallon sump. I would like to run waterproof outlets in the stand above the sump and have these feed into an American DJ power center. Has anyone done this before? I got the idea from Melev: http://www.melevsreef.com/power_system.html My questions are: Does the DJ power center just plug into a regular outlet? Down the road i want to add a controller, how will this work with what I am planning to do? Thanks--I would appreciate any advice/criticism.
ReeferMan March 25, 2008 March 25, 2008 it plugs into a regular socket but wont work on a controller i believe. I have one any i like it but its hooked up to smaller things that dont need to be controlled all the time. Like powerheads and skimmer.
jason the filter freak March 25, 2008 March 25, 2008 Are you going to use DCs or X10 with your controller the x10s would work with the power center a dc is a whole other story. The pannel just plugs into the wall.
Highland Reefer March 25, 2008 March 25, 2008 (edited) The one thing I would change over the one Melev setup, would be to run 20 amp circuits instead of 15 amp. Edited March 25, 2008 by Highland Reefer

Agree, and I'd dump the X10's - utterly unreliable garbage. There's a reason Neptune dropped support for them.............I got fed up with them long before I needed reliable for a reef tank.
