dshnarw January 21, 2008 Share January 21, 2008 Anyone with experience propping adhesive anemones (Cryptodendrum), or a link to a thread covering it? RC's search engine is, as usual, not cooperating. The only link I've found is an old one from MD where Calfo suggests it's possible to slice them. Thanks!

zotzer January 22, 2008 Share January 22, 2008 Wow....they really do look like pizzas! This is a little OT, but have you anemone lovers seen this guy on Diver's Den? They say it is a South Pacific Anemone...whatever that means....but it sure is beautiful! http://www.liveaquaria.com/diversden/detai....cfm?DDID=33852 Tracy

Thanks for the links. I got a tapetum from an LFS marked as adhaesivum. Was thinking about replacing my Heteractis with a smallish one for my clarkii pair, as the Heteractis is just...brown... Supposedly Roozen's gets them in sometimes, but I haven't yet seen one. Ultimate frags had two AMAZING ones on their website a few days ago, pink/green mix. Sold before I could scrounge up the money though :( Wow....they really do look like pizzas! This is a little OT, but have you anemone lovers seen this guy on Diver's Den? Don't have any experience with them, and only seen them referenced in Daphne Fautin's papers, so pretty uncommon, and very pretty. Maybe one day, when I get a bigger system... Supposedly Roozen's gets them in sometimes, but I haven't yet seen one.IIRC Chad down at Reef Science had a few in about 45-60 days ago. Over the years, I had at least 10 species of clowns in with my pizza, none called it home, even a youngish pair of clark's. IME, odds of acceptance is fairly low. fwiw: The species included a few host anything in captivity, black saddlebacks, skunks, etc. This is a little OT, but have you anemone lovers seen this guy on Diver's Den? They say it is a South Pacific Anemone...whatever that means....but it sure is beautiful! Hi Tracy, They can be gorgeous, but I am not aware of them hosting clowns, shrimp, or crabs so I have not had space for one for many years. They sure do look nice Cheers.
