I ordered my clean-up crew from http://www.keyscritters.com. They were supposed to arrive yesterday, and didn't - so I sent an e-mail.

Mike and Corrie, who run the place (they have a crew that collects the snails, crabs, etc to order) made a delivery to their Miami wholesalers last week, and on the way back they got rear-ended. By an 18-wheeler!

Corrie has been out of the hospital a couple of days - Mike just got out today. He bounced off the steering wheel a few times, and has a torn up leg, and 3-4 broken ribs. They refunded my paypal payment, but then said they would be shipping again the Wednesday after Christmas. So I re-ordered.

Can anyone loan me a couple hundred cerith snails?? :)

Glad I still have no fish in the tank - the 240 is running with about 20 snails and a half-dozen hermit crabs as a cleanup crew.

This place sells assorted snails and hermits - as well as Emerald crabs, and Sally Lightfoot crabs, and Brittle stars, etc. Sally Lightfoot crabs are 6 for $15. Now that's cheap!

Six SLF's will typically narrow down to one, maybe two in short order.

Six sounds like a GB to me.

I didn't realize they were that aggressive towards one another. I intended to put one in my nano, one in the 58, a 2nd one in my frag tank, and two more (there's one already) in the 240. But maybe I'd better re-think a couple of those selections. I really don't think I'll have too much trouble finding someone to take the extra one or two. By the way - those sally lightfoot's are one of the fastest growing creatures in the tank.
