lanman December 21, 2007 Share December 21, 2007 Amongst the boxes of stuff I got with the rocks I purchased, is a La Motte Calcium Hardness test kit; it appears to have never been used, but I have no idea how old it is. Any idea how long after purchase one would be good? Years? bob
lancer99 December 22, 2007 Share December 22, 2007 Bob, I got replacement chemicals for my LaMotte Ca test kit about a year ago, in anticipation of setting up a tank that never happened. I just opened them and tried them a couple of weeks ago, and got totally wacky readings, like 180 ppm....panicked, bought a Salifert kit, and the readings were much more in line w/ what I expected. I love LaMotte's kits, but I would suggest you buy new chemicals. -R

I may give it a try just to see what I get; but I won't panic! bob
