FishWife December 20, 2007 December 20, 2007 I know practically nothing about tools. Scott wants to be able to drill 3/4" or 1" holes in some of our sump tanks. Can anyone give me a brand name, model #, and exact information such that I can go to HD tonight and get him a drill and the proper bits for drilling glass? TIA as always!

BRK has Glass Cutting Bits for cheap, look there for those bits HD or Lowes, you can get a ton of choices. For Drills, go with a either an Electric (Those with extension cords you plug in) 3/8" Drive Drill: Brands: Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Rigid, Ryobi and Black & Decker are good brands in that order of quality (Price ranges too) My personal favorite: Dewalt If you go CORDLESS, stick with the same brands listed, but get an 18 Volt model in same 3/8" drive. Decent Cordless Model: Rigid 18v -There are alot of PACKAGE DEALS worth looking at too, that includes Saws, Lights, Sanders, etc.

It was very close, but the shaft of the bit was just too thick. Very frustrating. Be warned, and be careful. Better to get a drill with 1/2" chuck tim Edited December 21, 2007 by extreme_tooth_decay
