i bought a tricolor from another member long ago when he broke down his tank. Due to the lighting shock from my tank I lost half of the colony. The whole bottom half is turning dull light green and lost all tissue (similar to turning all white but this one turn green). The other top half turned to a brown color and no PE. After about 1 months under proper lighting from my new tank. Now the top half starting to turn florescent green and the tip turning into blue with ton of PE. Is this the color of a normal tri-color? what other change should i be expecting?

Also my green slimer frag, is the tip suppose to be white? or it suppose to be all green because a few of mine have white tip (~.5inch at the top of the branch) while other just have normal green? I was afraid it was RTN turning white but it look fine and healthy and ton of PE. Should i be worry or it justa sign of growing?

Tricolor = Acropora Valida Tricolor?

The bottom half turning green is STN, which often just 'stops' at some point, and regeneration and normal growth start up again. I'm not sure what three colors your tri-color should be.

Green slimer - are you sure? Acropora Yongei is 'green bali slimer' - and I haven't seen one with white tips. On the other hand, various staghorn acropora's have white or pale blue tips. The teal acropora I got from Rebecca's breakdown has white tips (on some of the branches), and my 'blue-tip' staghorn has light blue tips on about half of the branches.

Colors will vary between tri-colors and between tanks. I have 4 in my tank and they all look distinctly different from each other, and from how they looked when I got them. The one in my avatar is an ORA tricolor. In my tank the green is all gone, but I gave a frag to another member with different lighting and he tells me he gets all 3 colors in his tank. Part of the fun is seeing how things will color up in your tank.

Do you have PE on the white tips of that slimer frag? If not you could be having a problem with too much light (or at least, not enough acclimation). You might try shading it for a little while.
