Gatortailale September 16, 2003 September 16, 2003 The officers of WAMAS have a special opportunity coming up. We have been working with the editors of the Washington Post Sunday Magazine and they have agreed to do a two page photo spread on WAMAS member tanks. We have been drafting the outline of the story (2-3 paragraphs max) and the theme is: Bringing excitement to science at home: REEFing in DC The thesis is that there are many members of WAMAS who have children and use their tanks as educational/science experiments for their children. We would like to do photos of parent/child with tanks. Our goal: Beautiful tank Cool photo of kids/parents w/tank We can fit maybe 2-3 tanks into this spread. Check out how they did the spread for the national arboretum... This is a special opportunity. This truly is an exciting opportunity. Please let us know quickly! Regards, Steve PR Director, WAMAS

Sph2sail September 28, 2003 September 28, 2003 An update... When I wrote that initial piece in the first post that Craig copied, that was in May/June of this year. The goals of the article are now combined with the photography of Len Jenshel and Diane Cook, what their book is about (large scale aquarium systems) and how the WAMAS club helps bring this to the DC area. I think. Sorta. Kinda. I hope. Anyway, the WashPost is a very independent org. They write quality and they write what they believe is the story, not what we tell them we want. I believe we will get good exposure here. Two things really contribute. Len and Diane were the photographers for our tanks to support the story. Awesome gear and should have some incredible images of our member's tanks. Second, the whole club supported a 10G nano for clowns that is now running well. We really showed our colors on that project. Should be an Excellent piece. I'm willing to bet it is more than a 2 page spread, but we will see... s
michaelg November 1, 2003 November 1, 2003 Giving this a bump. The article will be in tomorrow's Sunday Post.

michaelg November 2, 2003 November 2, 2003 While I liked all of the pics- the one of Haley wins the prize. I remember when Abby was that young and how she would stare in the tank all the time. Always with a big smile on her face.
